Teach students problem-solving, not information-gathering, B.C. educators told @VancouverSun

When all the information in the world — including mathematical formulae, historical dates and names, and philosophical theories — is available at the click of a button, what is the purpose of education? The purpose is to teach people how to evaluate information, ask the right questions, and be able to solve complex difficult problems, Quest University president David Helfand told educators gathered Friday during a session of the provincial professional development day.
